Keeping Up With.....My Fitness (KUWMF)

After my challenge I was determined not to put back on, the weight I had lost! Originally I was planning to take it easy for a week, study for my exam then go back to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, starting this week. But it's easier said then done! I did the exam on Monday so I should be back on track by now now, but I think I'll only fit in one class this week and next week isn't looking good either! But all is not lost.....thank God for technology!


I downloaded two apps...My Fitness Pal and Map My Run. You've probably heard of these apps or have them downloaded yourself, if not go get them! So to keep the weight off, I kept going with the diet that I had started with my 6 week challenge (Look at this post and this post for more on what I ate) and used My Fitness Pal to keep track of my calories and nutrition. I'm not just trying to slim down I want to eat healthy as well.

The app literally has the nutrition information for every food you can think of, so you just scan in the barcode or look up what your having and gives you all the nutrition information on that food as well as records it. It adds up how many calories you've consumed as well as how much fat, carbs and protein you've had all day. It also gives you a target for how much you should be eating from each food group, as well as how many calories to be aiming for each day.

As for the exercise I wasn't giving up on that either. I knew I wouldn't have enough free time (Tupperware parties and what not!) this week to book in for four hours of the gym, so I started jogging around my estate in the evenings. When you're not restricted to going to the gym at a certain time it's much easier to fit in a jog, the exercise literally starts the minute you step outside the door. With Map My Run it records my jog and at the end of it tells me all about my jog, like how far I went, how many calories I burned, how long it took and some other information that I don't really understand!
 
And what's even better is that the two apps sync together like two chatty friends, so after my jog Map My Run tells My Fitness Pal that I've just exercised!

The two apps are so handy to have! I record everything into My Fitness Pal and it's so quick and easy to use it just takes a few seconds to enter information. Then with each jog on Map My Run I go a bit further to keep on improving. Both the apps are free, are so simple to use and have definitlety helped my keep on top of my fitness and diet!
